Alzheimer's Task Force: Letter From US Senator Debbie Stabenow
Dear Nanya,
Thank you for contacting me to share your support for those living with Alzheimer's disease and for their caregivers.
I understand your concerns about finding new treatments for Alzheimer's. As a member of the Alzheimer's Task Force, I am leading the fight in the Senate to increase research to find new treatments and cures that can improve and even save the lives of those with Alzheimer's. I introduced the Comprehensive Care for Alzheimer's Act, which would ask the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to create a new way to pay for comprehensive Alzheimer's care. This legislation would reduce medical complications, support caregivers, make care more affordable, and improve the quality of life for patients.
I have repeatedly voted in support of funding for the National Institutes of Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and programs that focus on neuroscience like the BRAIN initiative. You can always count on my support for research into a cure for Alzheimer's disease.
Thank you for sharing your views with me. Please do not hesitate to do so again, whenever I can be of assistance to you.
Sincerely,
Debbie Stabenow
United States Senator
